Non-communal spirit has to be maintained at individual, society and state level in a bid to further progress Bangabandhu's Bangladesh.
Speakers at a program organized in honour of the celebration of Mujib Year by the Sector Commanders Forum said, in Dhaka, on Tuesday.
AKM Shafiulllah, president of the forum, presided over the program. He demanded a list of people involved with the assassination of Bangabandhu and his family be published.
He added: "I was moved by Bangabandhu's 7th March speech, and had joined in the Liberation War while serving in the then Pakistan Army."
Maj Gen (retd) Ali Shikdar, organizing secretary for the forum, while presenting the keynote speech, said: "Bangabandhu's sacrifice proved he never compromised with anything or anyone."

Prof Abdul Mannan, chief guest at the program, said: "Bangabandhu was the only person who time and again spoke for Bangalis' sake."
He lamented that the activities of Liberation War platforms and forums have been reducing gradually.
He then turned to Shafiullah, and asked: "Did you hear the whistle of a major mark the independence of a country? "
Bangladesh was not liberated in this way, he added.
