An adultery case has been filed against BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia's Barrister Kaiser Kamal in Dhaka.
Barrister Atiqur Rahman filed the case alleging deceit with Kalabagan police station on Wednesday night under section 420 of the Penal Code, 1860.
Confirming the matter, Kalabagan police station Inspector (Operation) Thakur Das Malo said: "Police arrested Barrister Kaiser in connection with the case. He is expected to be sent to court on Thursday."
In his complaint letter, Barrister Atiqur said: "Barrister Kaiser met my wife at a family occasion. The duo have been involved in an extra marital affair since last year."
On Wednesday night, Barrister Atiqur followed his wife and spotted her with Barrister Kaiser in front of Panthapath's Square Hospital.
"An enthusiastic mob gathered around when both the lawyers got involved in a heated argument. Police arrived there, and released Barrister Atiqur and his wife following primary interrogation," Inspector Thakur Das added.
