DMCH staff beaten to death with cricket bat

Another DMCH staff has been arrested in this regard

A Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) staff has been beaten to death in front of Dhaka's Central Shaheed Minar, following a dispute.

The deceased is Md Amir Hossain, son of late Korban Ali from Zajira upazila of Shariatpur district.

Following a dispute, another DMCH staff Md Ibrahim, 18, hit Amir from the back with a cricket bat. Amir was then rushed to the emergency unit of DMCH in an injured state, where doctors declared him dead around 7am on Sunday.

Ibrahim was arrested by on-duty DMCH ansar and handed over to Shahbagh police station.

DMCH police outpost In-Charge Inspector Bachchu Mia said: "The body is in the hospital morgue. The prime cause of death will be determined after the autopsy. 

"Shahbagh police station is investigating the matter now, though complaint has been lodged yet."
