Brac founder Sir Fazle Hasan Abed hospitalized

The physical condition of Sir Fazle is stable now

Brac Founder and Chair Emeritus Sir Fazle Hasan Abed has been hospitalized. 

He fell sick on Wednesday evening and was admitted to a hospital in Dhaka, a press release from Brac said on Thursday.

The press release was signed by Brac Executive Director (ED) Asif Saleh and Brac International ED Dr Muhammad Musa.

The physical condition of Sir Fazle is stable now. Doctors at the hospital have advised to keep minimal visitors at the moment, the release said.

The Brac release also mentioned that the privacy of his family members is very important at the moment and the organization will also share the updated information of the Brac founder’s health condition to the media. 

Fazle founded the non-governmental organization Brac in 1972.

In September 2019, he was awarded the prestigious Yidan Prize, the largest international prize in education, for his groundbreaking role in educational development in Bangladesh.
