Airport Customs has detained a man along with 6.60kg of gold ornaments at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka.
The detainee, Mohammed Murshed Hossain arrived at the airport by a Qatar Airways flight in the early hours of Thursday, reports UNB.
Seeing suspicious movement, Customs officials challenged Murshed just when he was about to leave the green channel at 3am on Thursday, Customs Assistant Commissioner Sajjad Husain said.
The gold ornaments were seized from a shopping bag he (Murshed) was carrying, he added.
Later, Murshed was handed over to Airport police station.
