Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has submitted a charge sheet against Kalabagan Krira Chakra Club president Shafiqul Islam Firoz in a case filed under the Narcotics Control Act.
Investigation officer and RAB 2 Sub-Inspector Jasim Uddin submitted the charge sheet to the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Rajesh Chowdhury on Tuesday.
Sub-Inspector of Dhanmondi police station and also the General Register Office (GRO) Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Ashraf Ali confirmed the matter.
Earlier on September 21, RAB filed two cases against Firoz under arms and narcotics acts with Dhanmondi police station.
He was placed on a 10-day remand by a Dhaka court on the same day in the two cases.
Later, the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) filed a case against KalabaganKrira Chakra Club President and Krishak league leader, Shafiqul Alam Firoz, on charges of amassing wealth illegally.
RAB members detained the Kalabagan Krira Chakra Club president on September 20, before raiding the club in search of a potential illegal casino. During the raid, they recovered 500 packs of playing cards, one foreign pistol with three bullets, and a few yaba tablets.
