Customs officials have recovered 50 gold bars, weighing 5.8kg, from a flight at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
The gold bars were recovered on Wednesday.
Sazzad Hossain, assistant commissioner of Dhaka Customs House, said: " A flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines, BG 022, landed at the airport around 8:40am from Muscat.
"Acting on a tip-off, a preventive team of Customs House searched the flight and found the gold bars hidden beneath seat no 22C."
The seized bars are worth an estimated Tk3 crore.
