Raid at Aziz Mohammad Bhai's house: Huge cache of liquor, gambling equipment recovered

Several hookahs, glass bongs, a betting table, and casino chips were also recovered from the house

The Department of Narcotics Control (DNC) has recovered a huge cache of foreign liquor, gambling equipment, and other contraband items during a raid at a house owned by businessman Aziz Mohammad Bhai.

A DNC team raided the Gulshan 2 house in Dhaka on Sunday afternoon.

Alongside the bottles of liquor, several hookahs, glass bongs, a betting table, roulette set, and casino chips were also recovered from the house.

Two people -- Meer Md Parvez, a domestic help, and Nabin Mandal, a caretaker, of the house -- have also been detained on charges of running an illegal narcotics business.

Md Fazlur Rahman, additional director DNC Divisional Office (Dhaka), said:"Nobody lives in the house except the duo. We got a tip-off that they were doing business here."


Aziz Mohammad Bhai | CollectedApart from the drive, the Department of Narcotics Control recovered cannabis upon raiding the rooftop of another building adjacent to Aziz’s house.

Aziz, a director of Olympic Industries Limited and a film producer, is one of the accused in the sensational murder case of film actor Salman Shah.
