Thirty-seven people have been sentenced for possessing, and selling intoxicants in Dhaka.
Rapid Action Battalion [RAB] Executive Magistrate Md Sarwar Alam passed the sentence on Tuesday.
RAB detained them during anti-narcotic drives in Tejgaon, Sher-E-Bangla nagar, Mohammadpur, and Kalabagan, between Sunday evening and Monday morning.
All of the 37 apprehended were sentenced to six-month imprisonment, and fined Tk5,000 each.
Besides, RAB 2 also detained four suspected hijackers from Mohammadpur Monday afternoon.
When asked, RAB officials stated, the hijackers targeted mainly businessmen.
In another case, a Al Amin, in connection with 15 cases was also arrested. The accused was arrested from Lalbagh.
RAB seized a foreign pistol, one magazine, three rounds of bullets, and 70 yaba pills from Al Amin's possession.
