Commerce Secretary Md Jafar Uddin said, the Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) will sell onions at Tk45 in 35 places.
He made these comments to reporters at his secretariat office on Monday.
Jafar Uddin said: “At the TCB designated places, the public will be able to buy onions for Tk45 per kg. Besides, the distributors of TCB will sell goods from 10am to 6pm daily on mobile trucks in ten locations in Chittagong, five in the remaining six divisional cities, in addition to 35 locations in Dhaka city.”
He said: “Already two ships have arrived at the port from Egypt, and have been released. Onions are also coming from Turkey. Onions are also regularly coming from Myanmar through the border trade, and also through LC.”
