“An unknown man wanted a Toyota Allion car and offered Tk8 lakh to Sijan, prompting his plan to hijack a car,” said the commissioner.
Sijan with his two associates bought two switchblades from New Market on June 13. They called an Uber, and kept on cancelling and asking for new rides for five times until they found an Allion car. The three waited in a dark and secluded place in Uttara for the car to arrive.
Abdul Baten said: “Sijan slit the driver’s throat when the car arrived, but failed to hijack the car. All three have admitted to their involvement in the murder. Right now, we are trying to uncover who wanted the car and for what purpose.”
