Speaking at a program marking Bangabandhu’s 99th birth anniversary, “Bangabandhu in the International Arena” at Jatiya Press Club, he also cited the recent terrorist attack in New Zealand’s Christchurch, adding that everyone must rise above the barriers of religion and race, and embrace a tolerant mindset.
“The attacks across the world are happening due to hate and envy, which we must get out of,” the minister said.
Various workshops and seminars are being organized to showcase Bangabandhu’s legacy and contribution to the world, Dr Momen remarked.
In order to shed light on the issue of genocide inflicted on Bangladeshis during 1971’s War of Liberation, the government is planning on setting up a room at Dhaka’s Sugandha, the state guest house, where photographs of the atrocities will be put up so that visiting dignitaries can learn more about it.
