MSS provides eye care at Tejgaon truck terminal

The service will also be provided at Sayedabad bus terminal in the capital on March 2 and March 3

Manabik Shahajya Sangstha (MSS) provided basic eye care among visually challenged public transport drivers at Tejgaon truck terminal on Sunday and Monday from 10am to 3pm. 

The non-government organization reported their campaign details, through a press release signed by Assistant Director Swapna Reza, issued on Tuesday, 

At the eye camp at Tejgaon truck terminal, a total of 244 public transport drivers and helpers were given basic eye screening and treatment at concessional rates, the release said.

Among them, 176 individuals were found to be visually challenged. 79 public transport drivers were provided spectacles, while others wished to get spectacles on their own. Also, 128 drivers were provided medicine for their eye conditions.

The service will also be provided at Sayedabad bus terminal in the capital on March 2 and March 3, the release added.

Earlier, on Sunday, Manabik Shahajya Sangstha (MSS) unveiled a study, which found that 73.29% of public transport drivers were reported to be visually challenged.
