The Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA), on Tuesday, started the third phase of its eviction drive, demolishing illegal establishments along the Buriganga River.
The drive started at Batteryghat in Kamrangirchar, around 10am, and will continue till 5pm, said BIWTA sources.
A total of 18 illegal establishments, including four brick kilns, have been bulldozed since the drive began.
Earlier, in two phases, a total 1,199 establishments were torn down on the riverbanks.
