Students of Viqarunnisa Noon School and College have resumed their demonstrations for the second consecutive day demanding the punishment and removal of its acting principal and accused teachers over the suicide of their fellow student.
A group of students, including classmates of the girl, took position in front of the main gate of the educational institution with placards and were staging demonstrations till the filing of this report around 10:40am Wednesday, reports UNB.
Earlier, on Tuesday night, a case was filed with Paltan police station against Viqarunnisa acting principal Nazneen Ferdous, morning shift in-charge Zinnat Ara, and Class 9 class teacher Hasna Hena over the girl's suicide by her father.
The case accused the trio of causing the student to commit suicide through their actions.
Amid widespread criticisms over the incident, the school authorities issued a show-cause notice to morning shift in-charge Zinnat Ara in this connection.

What led to the suicide of the 9th-grader?
The student hanged herself from a ceiling fan at her residence in Shantinagar area of Dhaka, on Monday.
She was caught with a mobile phone during a school examination, upon which she was accused of cheating, and her parents were called in by the school authorities.
When the acting principal of the institution, Nazneen Ferdous, started misbehaving with the student's father, the student ran away from the principal's office and later, her parents found her hanging from a ceiling fan at their house.
She was admitted to a local hospital and later transferred to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital, where the on-duty doctors declared her dead.
‘Viqarunnisa student’s suicide heart-rending’
Previously, on Tuesday, another bench of the High Court – comprised of Justice Sheikh Hassan Arif and Justice Rajik-Al-Jalil – observed that the suicide of the schoolgirl is heart-rending and termed the insults to her parents a “very bad example.”
The lawyer, barrister Sayedul Haque Sumon, presented reports on the suicide, published in different newspapers, before the bench—and sought its directives.
The court asked the lawyer to file a writ petition attaching the newspaper reports to it.
Meanwhile, two separate probe committees have been formed to investigate the suicide.
The government formed a probe committee led by Prof Mohammad Yusuf, director of Dhaka Regional Education office. The committee has been asked to submit its report within three days.
The school authorities also formed a three-member probe committee which was asked to submit its report within three days.
