A Dhaka court on Sunday granted bail to Jubo league leader Arifur Rahman Tuhin who was arrested in a case filed in connection with the death of two teenagers who were run over by a pickup van during a clash between factions of Awami League in Mohammadpur area of the capital on Sunday morning.
Tuhin was produced before the court requesting for a 5-day remand.
Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Devdas Chandra Adhikari granted him bail after rejecting the remand application, said general record officer of CMM court Sub-Inspector Nizam Uddin.
Earlier, Arifur Rahman Tuhin was arrested from Dhaka's Keraniganj area in the early hours of Sunday, Later in the day, he was produced before the court, Jamal Uddin Mir, officer-in-charge of Mohammadpur Police Station told the Dhaka Tribune.

Omar Faruk,father of one of the deceased boys –Arif – filed a case, with Mohammadpur police station, against 20-25 unnamed persons on Saturday night.They will further investigate the matter, the OC added.
Sources said, Tuhin was convener of Jubo League's Adabar Thana unitand a follower of the Awami League Joint General Secretary Jahangir Kabir Nanak and was defeated by Abul Hashem Hasu in the last city corporation election.
Two teenage boys – Arif, 14, and Sujon, 18 – were killed when a pickup van ran over them during a clash between two Awami League factions in Dhaka’s Mohammadpur area on Saturday night.

One faction was led by Awami League Joint General Secretary Jahangir Kabir Nanok and the other by Awami League Dhaka city north unit General Secretary Sadek Khan.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has ordered the submission of a report, on the Mohammadpur clash after investigation, within a couple of days, said the ruling party’s General Secretary Obaidul Quader.
