Artwork centering Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina should be exhibited across the country, said Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader.
Road Transport and Bridges Minister came up with the statement at an exhibition organized by the Hashumonir Pathshala and National Museum jointly on Sunday where 71 portraits of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Jamalpur’s traditional Suchishilpa were displayed.
The portraits were painted in a workshop of the Hashumonir Pathshala of the Fine Arts faculty of the Dhaka University (DU).
The organization collected the art work to mark their first anniversary along with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s 71st birthday.
Obaidul Quader said: “The artwork must reach our countrymen by organizing such programs nation-wide. The rural women hailing from Jamalpur uphold Bangabandhu, Sheikh Hasina and liberation war by their portraits.”
DU Pro Vice-Chancellor (Administration) Prof Md Samad, Director General of the National Museum Maksudur Rahman, President of the Hashumonir Pathshala Marufa Aktar Popi were also present at the occasion.
