Jatiya Oikya Prokriya leader Dr Kamal Hossain has called upon the public to unite and wage movement to restore voting rights for all citizens.
He was speaking at a human chain program arranged in front of the National Press Club on Sunday.
Jatiya Oikya Prokriya asked the government to accept its three –point demand, and arrange the election under a non-partisan government.
He said the country belongs to all, not to any individual, party or family.
“We will definitely make our movement a success like in the past, and restore people’s ownership of the country. The power of unity would lead us to ensure rights of all.
“If we can unite, no autocratic regime can deprive us of country’s ownership and rights,” Kamal said.
He criticized the government for filing false cases against political leaders and activists ahead of the election and demanded their release.
He also accused the Awami League leaders of accumulating wealth by looting and money laundering.
Dr. Kamal Hossain said “There is no alternative to a free, fair and neutral election to bring a change through a legal way. We must forge a unity and bring a change through a credible election.
“People will be deprived of their rights, if the election is not held in a fair and credible manner,” he added.
He hoped that the people’s united movement to ensure a fair and credible election will be successful.
