Hundreds of passengers are being inconvenienced at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka as a section of workers of Biman Bangladesh Airlines are on work abstention— demanding the regularization of their jobs.
The move has disrupted ground-handling operations since Sunday morning, reports UNB.
ASP (Media) of Airport Armed Police Tariqul Islam said the workers laid siege to the Biman headquarters Balaka Bhaban around 10:30am.
However, flight operations at the airport remained undisrupted, he said.
Preferring to remain anonymous, a Civil Aviation official said ground-handling operations at the airport are being hampered as Biman workers refrain from work.
Biman is responsible for ground-handling operations at the airport.
