State Minister for Information Tarana Halim has decided to go to and return from her office by taking public transport, to see firsthand what those who do so have to go through.
Tarana Halim returned to her Gulshan residence from her office at the secretariat in a public bus on Wednesday.
Her Public Relations officer Enayet Hossain said she has taken the decision in order to feel the pain of hazardous travel the general people endure every day while commuting, reports UNB.
"People always complain that MPs and ministers don't face traffic jams. People expect the ministers to commute by public transport at least once. Tarana Halim has decided to travel to and return from her office every day by taking public transport," Enayet added.
He however, said the state minister will use an official vehicle for attending important official events.
