Police on Tuesday released 37 detained students into the custody of their parents.

Tejgaon Industrial police said the students were detained during Monday’s protest and kept at police station.

Tejgaon Industrial police station Officer-in-Charge (Investigation) Inspector Rasheduzzaman said charges were not filed against the students after considering their futures. All the students signed an undertaking before release.

Sources said most of the students were from Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology, but the Dhaka Tribune could not independently verify the reports.

Police sources said all 37 detained students were released by 3pm. Parents of the detained had gathered in front of the police station in the morning.
