An elderly man has died after being hit by a motorcycle in the Mohakhali area of Dhaka on Friday night. His wife was also injured in the accident.
The deceased was identified as Muktar Khan, 60. His wife Mahrunnesa, 45, has been admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH). The couple are from Talikanda in Bhanga upazila of Fardipur.
Confirming the matter, DMCH outpost in-charge SI Bachchu Mia said Muktar and his wife were crossing the road under the Mohakhali flyover, when they were hit by a speeding motorcycle at around 7:45pm.
Pedestrians rushed the two to DMCH, where duty doctors declared Muktar dead at 9pm.
The SI added that the couple were returning home after Muktar had taken his wife for chemotherapy when the accident occurred.
