Association of Women Enterprise (AWE) has organized a three-day fair in which various handicrafts, clothes for both male and female consumers, toys, and other items were exhibited.
The festival was inaugurated by Advocate Sahara Khatun, MP, former home minister, and posts and telecommunications minister. It took place at a community centre in Uttara on Saturday.
Women activists from all over the country participated in the festival.
Sahara Khatun said: “Half of the population of Bangladesh is comprised of females. So women should be more engaged in every sector, including entrepreneurship.”
AWE President Hafiza Momtaj Hashi said: “Every woman should learn to be independent through their enterprises and emerge as a primary decision-maker responsible for her own life.”
