An aircraft of US-Bangla Airlines has made an emergency landing at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport after a malfunction in its fuel filter.
However, the flight took off shortly after landing on Saturday morning after no faults were found.
Flight BS-315, carrying 164 passengers, started for Malaysia at 8:50am. The Boeing-737 aircraft returned to the airport within 25 minutes of its takeoff.
US-Bangla Airlines General Manager Kamrul Islam said: “The flight was thoroughly checked after it returned to the airport, but no faults were detected. The flight later took off again at 11:45am after getting clearance from the airport tower.
“The pilot, concerned with passengers' safety, decided to make the emergency landing. But no issue was detected afterwards.”
The Director of Civil Aviation Authority (flight safety and regulation) Wing Commander Chowdhury M Ziaul Kabir said: “This is not an emergency landing. The aircraft had to land because the fuel filter bypass warning light was flashing.”This article was first published in banglatribune.com
