The Japanese government had gifted US$60,291-worth audio-visual equipment to Bangladesh National Zoo, under a grant assistance scheme for cultural grassroots projects.
The Japanese ambassador to Bangladesh Hiroyasu Izumi handed over the equipment to Kazi Wasi Uddin, additional secretary of the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock, during a ceremony, hosted by the curator of the zoo, on Sunday.
The Bangladesh National Zoo authorities also had organized a workshop on wild animals for 50 students from Save the Future School and 30 students from Zoo and Botanical Garden High School for this occasion.
