Dhaka and New Delhi are setting up a transmission line between Baharampur in Pashchimbanga’s Murshidabad district and Bhermara in Ishwardi-Khulna area of western Bangladesh.
Bangladesh expects to start importing electricity through this line from August of this year.

The meeting will also review the progress of Bangladesh-India friendship activities in implementing the 1,320MW Rampal power plant in Bagerhat. They will also discuss and lay the foundation stone of the Rampal project.
