The much-awaited world-class third terminal of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport will be inaugurated by October 2023, State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism M Mahbub Ali has said.
Visiting the construction site on Monday, he said: “We are very confident that we will be able to inaugurate the third terminal of this airport between next September and October. It will be a milestone in the history of Bangladesh,” he said.
The project is being implemented at a cost of Tk21,300 crore.

Mahbub mentioned that around 34% of the work had been completed till now, and the rest would be done before October next year. “The progress of construction work of the terminal is 1.9% ahead of schedule.”
He added that the government wanted to ensure world-class passenger service at the airport, but it could not be provided due to some infrastructural problems.
