WaterAid UK Chief Executive Tim Wainwright is set to arrive in Bangladesh on Saturday on a week-long visit.
This will be his first visit to Bangladesh after assuming his responsibility as the chief executive of WaterAid UK in 2017, said a press release issued on Thursday.
The visit is believed to carve pathways for future collaboration between Bangladesh and the UK in mutual interest of advancing safe water, sanitation and hygiene for everyone in Bangladesh by 2030.
Wainwright will be accompanied by Heather Skilling, trustee of WaterAid UK, Henry Northover, global policy director of WaterAid UK, Erik Harvey, director of WaterAid UK's program support unit, and Savio Carvalho, global campaign director of WaterAid UK.
Wainwright and his team will visit WaterAid Bangladesh’s Faecal Sludge Management plant, public toilet facilities in Dhaka city, safe drinking water dispensing systems at the railway stations across the country, and WASH projects at the poverty-stricken urban and rural communities.
The WaterAid UK delegation will have meetings with the principal coordinator of SDG Affairs at the Prime Minister's Office, as well as government officials and executive directors of partner organizations.
They will also participate in a round-table discussion titled “Gauging the challenges of SDG 6”.
The delegation is set to leave on January 19.
