N’ganj killing: HC refuses to hear bail plea of Rana

The High Court has refused to hear a bail petition filed by Narayanganj seven murder accused ex-RAB official MM Rana.

Deputy Attorney General Md Bashir Ullah told the journalists after the court's proceedings on Sunday.

"The HC bench comprising Justice Quamrul Islam Siddique and Justice Gobinda Chandra Tagore returned the plea as one of the Judges declined to hear the matter," said Bashir Ullah.

The former RAB officer is one of the 35 people charged for the killings of seven including city councillor Nazrul Islam and senior lawyer Chandan Kumar Sarkar in Narayanganj.

The victims were abducted on April 27 last year and their bloated bodies were found floating in the Shitalakkhya River several days later.

On April 8, police pressed charges against 35 people, including three former RAB officers, local Awami League leader Nur Hossain and 31 others.
