“We have arrested some 74 people following identifying them by footages and photos of the incident. No innocent people will be harassed. We have enough evidence and every culprits will face arrest.
“We are there with a massage that the criminals will be exposed and exemplary punishment will be given to them,” SP Mizanur said.
He made the statement in a discussion programme held in Ashutosh Pilot High School field in Nasirnagar upazila on Tuesday. Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal chaired the event.
The SP also said Brahmanbaria has never experienced such heinous attacks in 150 years, even during the 1971 Liberation War.
Earlier, the minister accompanied by State Minister for Sports Biren Shikder for IGP AKM Shahidul Hoque, local MP Sayedul Haque visited damaged Gouro temple, where they met the Hindu community leaders.
