Customs Intelligence officials have held a man with 1.373 kg gold at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
The arrestee was identified as Ziaur Rahman, hailed from Munshiganj district.
Ummey Nahida Akter, assistant director of Customs Intelligence said a flight of Malaysia Airlines ‘MH 196’ from Malaysia landed at the airport on Tuesday midnight
Acting on a tip-off, a team of the intelligence challenged Ziaur as his movement was suspicious in the airport area.
At one stage, his handbag was searched and two gold bars weighing about 1.373 kg gold recovered from his bag.
Some ornaments weighing 100 grams were also recovered.
The price of the gold was estimated at about Tk65 lakh.
