Two suspected criminals have been killed in a “gunfight” with police in Jatrabari area of the capital on Saturday evening.
The deceased are Salauddin and his associate Jewel.
Jatrabari police station SI Imranul Islam confirmed to the Dhaka Tribune about the incident.
He said they were arrested at Balurmath under Kazla Nayanagar area in Jatrabari around 1pm.
After they were brought to the police station, they admitted about possession of arms.
When they were taken with the drive to recover the arms, their accomplices opened fire on police at Sutikhalpar. In retaliation, police fired back triggering a “gunfight.”
After the gunfight both of the arrestees were found dead with bullet wounds, said SI Imranul.
