Two individuals were held with some 20 abandoned petrol bombs near the capital’s Malibagh Supermarket under Rampura police station, Thursday morning.
The detainees are Delwara Begum, 50, and Jabeda Begum, 50.
Rampura police station Officer-in-charge Kripa Shindhu Bala said the women noticed the petrol bombs near Malibagh Supermarket and proceeded to sell them to a scrap shop at around 8am.
Upon being informed by the shop keeper, police rushed to the place and detained them with the bombs.
Kripa Shindhu said: “We will investigate whether the women have any direct involvement with bomb making or if they are working for any group.”
