Rongdhanu Group Director Mizanur Rahman Mizan has been arrested by the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).
He was arrested on Tuesday from Bhatara in the capital.
The information was confirmed by Mohammad Obaidur Rahman, additional deputy commissioner (ADC) of DMP’s Media and Public Relations Division.
According to the DMP's Detective Branch (DB), Mizanur Rahman Mizan is facing several cases, including one related to the recent student and public protests against discrimination that resulted in fatalities.
Additionally, the Crime Investigation Department (CID) has recently initiated an investigation into allegations of money laundering against the Rongdhanu Group.
The investigation is ongoing, and inquiries are being made into various officials of the group in connection with these allegations.
