Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) detained Johirul Islam alias Rubel for shooting students and people with firearms in two hands during the mass upsurge in Rajshahi.
He was detained during an overnight drive at Comilla's Daudkandi.
"RAB conducted a drive in the Daudkandi and detained Rubel, who is accused of shooting students and people carrying two firearms in his hands during movement at Boalia in Rajshahi on August 5," an official said.
RAB Legal and Media Wing Director Lt Col Munim Ferdous told media that Rubel fired at students and people with pistols.
