Five persons, including two constables, have been arrested for allegedly robbing Tk20 lakh from IFIC Bank in Dhaka.
They were arrested on Thursday and the stolen money was also recovered from them, Mohammad Salauddin, officer-in-charge (OC) of Paltan police station said.
The arrestees were identified as Mahbub, Asif, Hridoy, Raju, and Sohel.
A robbery case has been filed with the Paltan police station.
The OC said the mastermind of the robbery was an employee of a company. He went to the bank to deposit money, and the two involved constables took the money away from him. It was all part of the act.
The other two arrestees were providing information to those directly involved in the robbery.
The two involved constables were in charge of the Demra police lines.
