Officials of Dhaka Customs Office recovered 30 gold bars, weighing around 3.48 kilograms, from a dustbin at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital on Thursday morning.
The estimated value of the gold was around Tk3.5 crore. However, no one was arrested in connection with the gold recovery.
An object wrapped with scotch tape was spotted in the dustbin as abandoned condition around 9:30am, according to the officials.
Later, the packet was opened in the presence of all concerned agencies and the gold bars were recovered from the packet.
A legal action has been taken under custom law in this regard.
