Twelve men, posing as members of the Detective Branch (DB) of Police, have been detained in Dhaka with weapons and other equipment used by law-enforcement officials.
The detainees could not be identified immediately.
Confirming the matter, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Deputy Commissioner (media) Masudur Rahman told the
Dhaka Tribune: “They were detained from Jatrabari area Tuesday morning.
He said: “They were preparing to conduct a robbery in the area when we detained them with arms and ammunition.”
“A DB jacket, handcuffs and a microbus were also seized in the drive.”
Details regarding the matter will be disclosed in a press briefing later in the day.
