The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has filed a case against a former Roads and Highways Department (RHD) additional chief engineer and his wife on charges of amassing illegal wealth.
The commission Assistant Director Ataur Rahman Sarkar, who investigated the allegations, filed the case against Junaid Ahsan Shibib and his wife Shahana Parveen with the anti-graft watchdog’s Integrated District Office 1 in Dhaka on Thursday, said ACC Public Relations Officer Muhammad Arif Sadeq.
Junaid Ahsan Shibib had amassed Tk1.45 crore for himself and his wife by abusing power, the commission said.
The commission also said Shibib used his wife's name to legitimize income in an unethical manner.
