A college student has reportedly been raped by five men in Kagujiata village of Gopalpur, Tangail.
According to the rape survivor, the accused --- Shafikul Islam, Enamul, Jalal, Abdul Khalek and Altab --- used to sexually harass her on her way back home from college regularly.
On Monday evening they allegedly kidnapped her from Mohanpur Bazar area and took her to Shafikul’s house.
Later the five men reportedly raped her in turn and left her injured by the Mohanpur river terminal on Thursday morning.
The girl got admitted at Tangail General Hospital for treatment on Tuesday noon, according to Dr Md Kamruzzaman, on-duty doctor at the emergency unit of the hospital.
He said: “Several bruise marks were found on the girl’s body. But whether it is the result of rape or not will be known after a proper check-up.”
Contacted, Mosarraf Hossain, officer-in-charge of Gopalpur police station, said: “We are waiting for a complaint to be filed. Legal action will be taken against the offenders.”

Police arrested seven people for reportedly raping four minors among five women in four districts.
In Narsingdi, the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) on Monday arrested two persons for reportedly raping a teenager in Sadar upazila’s Shilmandi.
The arrested men, Md Jaman Miah, 30, and Usman Bhuiyan, 32, reportedly took the garment worker to a deserted place --while she was going to her factory on Saturday night--and raped her in turn, while another unidentified man kept watch.
A case was filed by the rape survivor’s father on Monday night with Narsingdi Model police station, confirmed PBI Inspector Moniruzzaman.
“They will be presented in court on Tuesday,” he said.
In Feni, police on Monday arrested two men over reportedly raping an indigenous young woman in BSCIC industrial area of the district town.
The arrested are rickshaw puller Riyad, son of Md Sadeq, and Chhoton Shil, a salon employee.
Adil Mahmud, OC of Feni Model police station, said the 18-year-old woman, hailing from Rangamati, came to Feni on Sunday night. After getting down from a bus, she hired a rickshaw at around 11pm.
The rickshaw puller took her near a decoration shop in Dewanganj Muktar Bari area at around 2am and raped her there. Afterwards, the rickshaw puller left her in Kathbella area near Salauddin intersection.
Finding the woman alone, Chhoton took her to a shop near Dewanganj, assuring her of sending her to her destination. Later, he too raped her.
After the incident, Chhoton took her to BSCIC road when a patrol team of police obstructed them over suspicious movement.
During interrogation, the woman informed them about the rape incidents. Later, police detained Chhoton and the rickshaw puller and took the woman to the police station, said OC Alamgir Alam of the police station.
In Nilphamari, police on Monday arrested a man for reportedly raping a 10-year-old child in Dimla area.
The accused, Shah Jamal, 25, lured the child--who was playing beside his house--into his room and raped her on Monday noon.
Hearing her screams, the mother of the child rushed into the room and caught him in the act.
Upon receiving a complaint, police arrested the accused and sent him to jail through the court on Tuesday, confirmed Dimla police station OC Serajul Islam.
In Sylhet, a ninth-grade school student and a sixth-grade madrasa student were raped on two consecutive days in the Companiganj area.
Fakhrul Islam, the accused rapist of the madrasa student, was arrested by police after the mother of the sixth-grader filed a case at Companiganj police station on Monday night.
On Sunday night, Fakhrul, a CNG-run auto rickshaw driver, allegedly raped the sixth-grader, police said.
On Saturday at around 8pm, Miraj Ali, 40, from Kathalbari village of the upazila, allegedly raped the ninth-grader girl.
Miraj, a father of four, seeing the girl alone outside, forcibly took her to a nearby field and raped her.
On Monday, the father of the rape survivor filed a case at the Companiganj police station.
Companiganj police station Officer-In-Charge (OC) KM Nazrul said two separate rape cases had been filed at the station.
