Update : 09 Jun 2017, 09:31 PM
A woman and her three children have been found dead at their residence in Kalaitek area under Turag police station in Dhaka early Friday. The deceased are Rehana Parvin, 40, wife of local businessman Mostafa Kamal, her daughters Shanta, 13, Shefa, 8, and eight-month-old son Saad. Turag police station Officer-in-Charge Mahbub-E-Khoda said the bodies were sent to Dhaka Medical College morgue for autopsy. He said Mostafa was not at home during the incident. Quoting Mostafa, the OC said: "Mostafa went out for some work around 7pm on Thursday. When he returned home around 12:30am on Friday, he found his wife hanging from the ceiling of her room. "He also found his three children lying on the bed. The hands and legs of his elder daughter were tied up." Hearing Mostafa's screams, neighbours rushed to the scene and informed the police. Later, police recovered the bodies and sent them to Dhaka Medical College. Legal measures are under process, the OC said, adding that police were looking into the incident. However, police could not confirm whether the incident was suicide or murder. OC Mahbub said the autopsy report would shed some light about what happened.
