Tk5 lakh mugged from businessman in Narsingdi

A man, Shafiqul Islam Sheikh Tulu, carrying Tk5,10,000, was mugged in front of Sonali Bank in Narsingdi on Sunday. Shafiqul is a contractor and the chairman of Narsingdi Chamber of Commerce. Narsingdi Sadar Model police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Golam Mostafa confirming the matter, said: "The incident took place in front of the bank’s main branch after Shafiqul withdrew money." Three muggers snatched the money from Shafiqul and fled the scene. Shafiqul said: "The bank has a CCTV footage of the incident and the police have been notified about it." The OC added: "We have started investigating the matter and will catch the muggers as soon as possible."
