One of the three accused, including poet Shahabuddin Nagari, arrested over the recent murder of a businessman in Dhaka's Elephant Road area on Thursday admitted being linked to the incident.
Noorani Akhter Sumi, the widow of the victim named Nurul Islam, gave her confessional statement at the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Ahasan Habib.
After recording Sumi's statement under section 164 of Code of Criminal Procedure, the magistrate ordered police to sent her to jail.
On Tuesday, a Dhaka court placed Nagari and Sumi on a three-day fresh remand each. They were earlier remanded for nine days in two phases.
On April 13, police recovered the body of Nurul Islam from a flat of 170/71 Dom-Inno Apartment on Elephant Road.
After the murder, the victim’s sister filed a case with New Market police station against Sumi, Nagari and some other unnamed people in this connection.
Afterwards, Sumi, Nagari and Nurul Islam's chauffeurMd Salim Hossain were arrested from different spots of the capital.
