Security forces defusing bombs at Comilla militant hideout

Update : 01 Apr 2017, 11:59 AM
Security forces are trying to defuse bombs at a militant hideout in Comilla's Kotbari. Police said two improvised bombs, weighing 5kg each, four grenades and two suicidal vests were found at the hideout used by two militants who had escaped before the raid. A bomb disposal unit, led by police's Additional Deputy Inspector General (Chittagong range) Md Sakhawat Hossain, started working on the bombs around 9am on Saturday. Sources say the unit is trying to wrap up their work as soon as possible. An embargo on movement remains in place in the surrounding areas. The raid, 'Operation Strike Out', will end once the bombs are defused. Militants arrested in Chittagong had given police information about the Kotbari hideout. Police laid siege to the building on Wednesday. When they finally raided it on Friday, the security forces only found the explosives left behind by the militants.
