A Jamuna Bank ATM booth security guard has been killed in Dhaka's Baridhara area.
The incident took place at the Jamuna Bank ATM booth—below the Hatil Furniture showroom of the same building—in the J block area of Baridhara, around 6am on Monday.
The deceased has been identified as Shamim, 24.
Bhatara police station duty officer Sub-Inspector (SI) Bilkis has confirmed the matter to the Dhaka Tribune.
She said: "We responded as soon as we were informed about the incident. Shamim's body was recovered from the Jamuna bank ATM booth.
"The body had multiple wounds. We have yet to identify the murder weapon. His body was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy. We have collected CCTV footage from the building."
"A case is yet to be filed regarding this matter. We have notified the bank authorities regarding the incident. Necessary steps will be taken upon further investigation," she added.
