Sixth grader raped by UP member

A school girl has been raped allegedly by a Union Parishad (UP) member at Baluchar of Sirajdikhan upazila in Munshiganj. Accused Kamal Molla, member of ward No 4 of Baluchar Union Parishad, went into hiding soon after the incident. Sirajdikhan police station Officer-in-Charge Yeardous Hasan said: “With the help of an accomplice, Kamal locked the girl’s mother in a room and then raped the girl on Sunday.” Police arrested the woman, Panna, 35, for helping Kamal in the rape. A case was filed in this connection on Monday afternoon, said the OC. He said police were trying to arrest the UP member.
