‘Nakhalpara militants died from bullet wounds’

The three militants of Rubi Villa in Nakhalpara area of Dhaka died from bullet injuries, said Professor AM Selim Reza, head of the forensic medicine department of Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital. He was speaking to reporters after finishing the post-mortem of the three militants on Saturday. “We have received three bodies from Tejgaon police station. All the bodies have bullet injuries. They died from bullets,” he said. Besides, the injury marks mentioned in the inquest report were found on the bodies, he added. However, he denied to provide further details regarding the issue and said: “This is a very sensitive issue and I have obligations on sharing further details. I will write everything in the post-mortem report.” Acting on a tip-off, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) conducted an operation at Rubi Villa in West Nakhalpara on January 11. At one point of the operation, the law enforcement officials opened fire responding to gunshots and bombs from the occupied flat.
