Awlad Hossain Sharja, of Gazipur, was detained after he arrived at the airport on an Air Arabia around 9pm on Thursday. Awlad is a driver by profession.
Dhaka Customs House Assistant Commissioner Ahsanul Kabir said: “The preventive team detained Awlad with the gold bars worth Tk24 lakh.
“The bars were hidden inside his shoe sole.”
He said that a case was filed in this regard.
