A class III student of Kur-Logachhi Women's Madrasa fled after being allegedly tortured by her teacher on Saturday in Chuadanga's Damurhuda upazila.
Later, police found her near Karpasdanga area.
Karpasdanga police camp's Sub-Inspector (SI) Asadur Rahman confirmed the matter.
Teacher Shirina Khatun assaulted the girl by making her do 50 squats for failing to submit her homework, a source from the victim's family said.
The student then fled from the madrasa.
Kur-Logachhi Women's Madrasa principal Mawlana Jubayer Rahman denied the allegation saying: "The student had escaped after stealing money from the madrasa."
"But earlier, she might have been punished for not being able to finish her homework," he added.
