Customs House Preventive team has seized gold weighing around 12kg from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
The officials recovered 100 gold bars from a toilet at the Regent Airways Tuesday evening, said Dhaka Customs House Preventive department Assistant Commissioner Shahiduzzaman Sarker.
Custom officials detained two persons identified as Rafiqul and Abdur Rahim, for their suspected involvement with the smuggling.
The estimated price of the gold bars is Tk6 crore, he added.
Shahiduzzaman said the Regent Airways flight 787 landed from Bankok to Chittagong to Dhaka airport around 6:30pm Tuesday.
"Rafiqul came from Bankok and Abdur Rahim form Chittagong. They talked to each other for long time and both of them went to the plane's toilet several times," he added.
